An SS Back to Back Strut Channel is two individual C-shaped stainless steel strut channels joined at the back, with open slots facing outward on both sides. Fabricators use this configuration to double the load path on a single support run. It handles higher bending loads than a single-channel section without adding a separate beam.
These channels go into pipe racks, cable tray supports, HVAC ductwork frames, and equipment skids where a single channel deflects too much under load. Food processing and pharma plants specify them for washdown areas since the closed profile resists corrosion better than open framing. Chemical plants use the same setup near acid or salt exposure zones.
Grade 304 covers most indoor and general industrial installations. Grade 316 goes into coastal sites, marine structures, and chemical processing lines where chloride exposure is constant. Duplex grades are available on request for higher strength requirements, though lead times run longer than standard stock grades.
Standard back-to-back channels are available in 41×41 mm, 41×62 mm, and 41×82 mm profiles to suit most strut framing systems. Stock lengths of 3 metres and 6 metres are available, with custom cuts available on request. Thicknesses are 1.5 to 3 mm, depending on load calculation.
