Z Brackets Specification

Material:

Fittings are made from hot-rolled, pickled, and oiled steel plates, bar, strip, or coil.
Conforms to ASTM specifications: A575, A576, A635, A1011 SS GR 33, A1011 HSLAS GR 45, or A36.
Meets or exceeds physical properties of ASTM A1011 GR 33.
Smooth surface free from scale due to pickling.
Available in stainless steel, aluminum, and fiberglass (consult factory).

Finishes:

Green Powder Coat (GR): Meets commercial standards for powder coating.
Electro-galvanized (EG): Conforms to ASTM B633 Type III SC1.
Hot-dipped galvanized (HG): Conforms to ASTM A123 or A153.
Plain (PL): Standard plain finish.
Unistrut Defender (DF): Conforms to ASTM A1059 or A1046.

Application:

Drawings show one application; many other applications are possible.
Channels used: P1000 (1-5/8″ square) unless noted otherwise.
9/16″ diameter holes fit 1/2″ x 15/16″ hex head cap screws and 1/2″ nuts (P1010, P3010, P4010, or P5510).
Nuts and bolts are sold separately.

Design Load:

Design load data is based on the ultimate strength of the connection with a safety factor of 2.5 (unless otherwise noted).

Beam Clamps:

Designed for W, M, S, and HP Shape beams; Standard C and Miscellaneous MC Channels; Angles; and Structural Tees.
Clamps must be used in pairs and mounted in opposite directions (where indicated).
HG finish clamps come with EG finish hardware.
Stainless steel hardware available upon request (contact factory).
